Welcome to the Catholic Parish of Alstonville and Wardell website. Our hope is to capture a sense of our unique parish life and culture and the vibrant parish community we have in Alstonville and Wardell. We have been able to achieve this by photographs and events, videos, and contributed information provided by parishioners.
Our Lady of the Rosary Parish was established in 1981 under the care of Father Darcy McCarthy. Father McCarthy died in 1991 and Father Frank Mulcahy was appointed Parish Priest and he remained until 2012. Father Max Gow was appointed Parish Priest in August 2012. In August 2013 the Alstonville Parish was amalgamated with St Patrick’s Church, Wardell.
Our parish serves the following villages and centres: Alstonville, Wollongbar, Rous Mill, Marom Creek, Pearces Creek, Uralba, Tuckombil and Wardell.
This video is an acknowledgment of the various groups who make up our parish. All volunteers and participating parishioners are thanked for their contribution to help our parish be inclusive and welcoming.
Altar Servers Picnic
Each year, we hold a picnic day for those who have served on the Altar at Our Lady of the Rosary Alstonville and St Patrick’s church Wardell during the year. It is the Parish’s gesture to thank the children for the wonderful work they do assisting on the Altar.
The Senior Altar Servers (students in Years 7 – 12) enjoyed a day at Wet N Wild on the Gold Coast. The Junior Altar Servers went to the Ballina Waterslide and Ballina Ten Pin Bowl where they had fun playing lots of games.
