Lent/Easter

Lent

It has become a tradition in our parish for parishioners to come together as a community for weekly prayer and reflection. To think of Lent as simply a time of penance is to do it an injustice. While the traditional practice of “doing something for Lent” is praiseworthy, there is much more to this wonderful season than just additional practices or acts of piety. The Lenten Community Prayer Programme is held each Monday evening. Refer to the calendar for the times of the details of the programme.

The Lenten gathering at Wardell is held on each Tuesday during Lent at 5.30 pm at the Convent.

Easter

Holy Week begins with Passion Sunday and ends with Easter Sunday. The Easter Triduum of the Passion and Resurrection of Christ is thus the culmination of the entire liturgical year. What Sunday is to the week, the solemnity is to the liturgical year.
